Fits perfect and was easy to install.
I will go into detail. I purchased these for my E32 with a comfortable setup with the plan to lower it a substantial amount on the front end, so I chose the lowered option (8-12CM). It feels sturdy in the hand and quality is nice and what you expect for a product of this price. I noticed out of the box the left front side coilover doesn’t have the carrier bracket for the brake pad sensor cable to clip into to, so it just kind of dangles there freely. Also These coilovers from what I thought were going to be similar to bc coilovers where the unit sleeves over the knuckle tube so they sit snug and easily can weld over the base. Instead mine came with a different way of welding where instead of mentioned like above, the coilover has a smaller diameter tube which slots inside the housing tube which you would have cut and then you weld at where you cut the knuckles which should be around 40mm. Problem is, you have to insure your cuts are pretty straight as it will be resting on that surface before welding as it can slightly mess with caster, camber etc. Because if your cut is slanted, the shaft doesn’t line up close enough with the strut housing tube. So make sure it’s nice and straight. Also have to make sure you align the sway bar end link bracket so the bracket isn’t facing off to the side but this isn’t too much of a hassle. It’s impossible to weld ALL AROUND because things like dust shield and wheel bearing in the way of the welding machine. But This is fine and enough welding to hold it into place is manageable. Okay, that’s out of the way so out of the box the height was way too low and almost contact my 17inch wheels. So make sure to Increase height a couple cm for both rear and front before installing on you car. Top mount can only fit ones way in front so can’t get wrong. I wish I received some new nuts for a product that costs over $1000 but I just reused old ones. With first time car on floor. These go really low. I think they go lower then advertised which is a good thing as I appreciate how much it drops the front to make that ugly wheel gap go. Measured from the floor to the front fender on my E32 is about 60CM is what I have them them adjusted to. With comfortable performance these ride really nice and my expectation was it was going to be really stiff but it’s really nice and mellowed for coilovers and is a daily without a question. Not one person I’ve driven with, has said it’s uncomfortable. I’ll leave preload how it is out of the box for now but I wish around corners it was a little more levelled and didn’t roll as much but it’s not a race car and weighs almost 2 tons, still, I can throw it around corners at much higher speeds. Overall it’s a good product and it’s what you get for the money. Hopefully this review helps someone out!
You know you’re working on a BMW when you talk more about how to make something work then you do about the performance of the product :D
I like these coil overs. Installation was easy and they fit perfectly fine like OEM. The ride is very smooth. I am still adjusting the rebound to get the perfect ride for all situations. An overall very good alternative for when my airmatic shock started leaking.
